It all starts to make sense
Why base times height?
The same formula works for rectangles, squares, and parallelograms, because they all have two pairs of sides that are the same length.
Tennessee...
The length of TN is about 440 miles and it is about 120 miles long.
440 * 120 = 52,800
An approximate estimate of TN's area is 52,800 square miles.
The actual area is 42,146 square miles.

Chapter 10
In chapter 10, I learned what many different lines in a circle were called. I know that a chord is a segment that touches both sides of the circle. I also know that a radius is from the center of the circle to the outside of it, and a diameter cuts a circle in half. I still have some questions about secants. I know that they form two chords, but I'm still a bit confused as to how I find the angle measures.
